I'm curious. Was the black flourish on the pink deliberately "gone at" with paint on a brush? I'm not harboring any dicta about it being painted or accident, just curious. Of course, now I'm curious about when it happened in the process...one second thought, don't tell me anything, because then I'll want to know all sorts of things.

Well, since it's ten years later, I'm going to answer this. The black "flourish" on the pick was not deliberately made in the sense you mean. That pink shape was cut from a piece o paper I'd used to get the paint pens started -- that's what those marks are.
I think that I actually got it from the Tenacious D episode in which their fan, Lee, says: "you guys are scaring me; you're sick and I hope you never get well..."
