Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

  1. I like the way you frame the pink with the red in the second one.

  2. "I like the way those nipples are framed with the red." Nipples shmipples a zie gezunt.

  3. To me the second one works because of the careful placement of red. You don't just draw a red frame around the pink orbs, you dab the red on in the corners of an imaginary red square. You let the viewers' eyes do the work.

  4. Thanks, eag. I was only teasing about your previous comments. Hopefully you know that.

  5. Oh wow, You and I were working with a synced palette. I really like these too, especially the top one.

    It evokes feelings.

    Yep, I'm keeping that line.

  6. The "it evokes feelings" line?

That's funny. A year or two ago, I read a comment in which someone was complaining about the use of the word "evocative," as in "what the hell does that mean, anyway? Evokes what?" (Was that you, Eric?) And I remember thinking, damn, I can't say evocative anymore?

But you don't just say evocative. You've added the far more risky "feelings."

Isn't it great when you're so self conscious about every word that you can hardly write anything? I just love that.

Well, you've probably taken care of any potential critics with your bitch-slap comment. For each evoked feeling, one bitch slap, please.

  7. I don't know how that came off, but I really want to feel free to say whatever I want in my mostly positive comments about people's work and would like others to feel the same.

    So, when I say "isn't it great when you're so self conscious . . . " I mean when I am.

Really, though, it's hard enough just to figure out what it is about the thing, then to have to worry about sounding too this or too that -- oh, it's crushing!

  8. I am protected by the dumb-Hoosier identity cloak. A cowardly but useful piece of apparel.

  9. I am finally able to forgive the top collage for NOT being the weird yellowish version which you posted earlier. I was intrigued by that version, but am coming around to its current incarnation.

  10. Oh dear. You might hate all of them if you saw them in life. NONE of these images are accurate. I do the best I can with my meager skills, very crude editing program and my nine year old camera which, even tho it's a Leica, is apparently absolutely ancient in the digital world. Well, duh, I knew that but I've always thought so what. But I'm told that my terrible problem capturing reds would be a little less terrible with a new camera.

But you actually remember the yellowish version? I just figured no one would remember it once it was gone and there was nothing to compare this one to.
